With websites likes EzineArticles.com or others, you can, for a small fee or some may even be free, post top ten articles on them. Or maybe putting in a copy of a recent press release or article you have written or favourable assessment that you can provide. Websites are great but outdated information is not great, it can spell disaster and even disappointment for your customers, to avoid this, update your website at least once a week. Emails are a great tool in business and they are a fast way to communicate with people in other time zones, but as with phone calls you must answer all queries in this fashion within a set time frame. Tardiness in this type of communication can send the wrong message to your customers and they will start to look elsewhere for the same products that you offer if you do not reply to them promptly. So as with the phone calls, set aside some time of the day when you are committed to sending and replying to email inquiries.

10.Community Involvement

Many successful business owners are heavily involved in their communities and this is another way to network. You can give some of your time to social programs, service clubs or maybe donate something to a worthy cause. You can give speeches at charity events and the like. Or if you have the time available you can start your own group that will help the community in some way. Making this a fun way to network you can also give something of yourself to something worthy and make some great friends along the way.

11.Public Speaking

This is another great way to get in front of people and to further help to build your business credibility, and to help make your business known in the community. You can undertake this for free or for a fee, it’s up to you but the aim is to get people interested in what you are offering. You can speak about your business, what you offer and what type of services you have available. This is a great way to get face to face contact with people and to promote your business to them.

This brings us back to the point of answering those phone calls and emails promptly, and making sure that your attitude is one of the highest customer service levels you can maintain.

13.Be Around Successful People

If you are looking for that extra edge on things, you need to be around those who excel in the areas of associates, networking, partnerships as these types of people will continue to inspire your business success with their business ideals. The best way to succeed is to talk to those who have done so before you and this can only serve to help you in the long run. You will make your own learning curve much shorter by hanging out with successful people who have been there and done it before you. This way you can pick up much knowledge and wisdom from these others, maybe consider a partnership with someone who is successful and has something that can benefit the two of you and you can reciprocate. Or maybe you can exchange products to market for them and vice versa.

14.The Learning Mindset

To be a successful business owner you need to adopt a knowledge seeking process as most business owners do, in this way you continually seek and find ways to improve yourself and this can be both personally and professionally. You know the old adage that knowledge is power. So with that, I wish you good luck!

But luck isn’t free, you have to work to get it! So what are you doing now? Stop reading this and get to work!

Calm Yourself Instantly Anywhere

Everybody has been anxious at some time and it doesn’t matter how relaxed you are before you are going to present a speech or before facing an exam or an interview? We have all felt the effects of anxiety at some stage of our lives, we all know too well the shivers that assail us or the trembling and the sweats that we get before we have to face something that makes us shake inside.

The object of this article is to give you differing ideas on how to liberate yourself from these same feelings and to combat this affliction that many of us have trouble with from time to time. It will give you good insight into the different ways in which you can control this, and that you can utilize anywhere without embarrassing yourself. You will not be told to meditate on the floor or anything like that, and you will not be asked to chant anything at all. So please read on…

In looking at calming yourself down, which is really a wrong terminology, we actually calm up.

To calm yourself you really need to integrate yourself with your surrounding and move mentally inwards to obtain a steadying affect, so please don’t try to disconnect yourself from your environment, you need to embrace it.

The Chair Press-up

This is very handy if you are waiting to deliver a speech or if you’re slightly nervous in a group environment. Simply locate your hands on the edge of your chair. Maybe there are no arms? Then simply place them on the seat. Make sure you brace yourself, now, inhale deeply and push upwards with your hands and feet as you exhale. Lock your arms at this phase and allow your torso to hang by your arms for just a moment as you finish exhaling…. drawn-out and deeply. Then go limp, but stay in the locked up position. Then simply sit back, you will feel limp as a noodle and everything is great.

The Way You Breath

This is a crucial part of calming yourself, and the recommendation here is to look into the Eastern styles of breathing techniques with the use of the diaphragm; this is a powerful muscle and should be used more. You should breathe in easily and powerfully through your nose and expand your diaphragm. You should be breathing into your stomach here and not your chest. Then, blow it out powerfully and steadily through your mouth. Do this a few times. You will be able to feel the tenseness departing your body as you do this.

Spreading Your Legs

This may not seem like an important one but it does have quite sincere subconscious worth. When we are relaxed (and particularly men) we tend to spread our legs and take up much more room. By allowing yourself to spread your legs and either sitting or standing you will occupy more space, and this is what we do when we are comfortable in a particular environment. Try and allow the state of comfort to follow on from this.

Try Slouching Slightly

We all know that slouching is bad for posture and this activity won’t affect you as you will only be doing it for a short time. People do tend to slouch more when they are at ease and relaxed and this is something you can try next time you are up tight. Just by allowing yourself to slouch slightly your muscles will tend to release and this will give you some relief from the tensed feeling that you have. The feeling will follow the action as you allow your head to recline and you let yourself slouch into the chair.

Your Power Hands

When you observe powerful people you will usually notice that they are calm people, often relaxed and very comfortable in what they do, you will also learn that they do a couple of things with their hands, either the hands behind the head or stippling their hands. To make a steeple simply place your elbows on a table and spire your hands before your face, similar to the bad guy in the movies that is thinking and plotting. Place yourself in his position and realize that you are going to come out on top and that you are in control as you plan and devise in your head. Just think of the actions that you are putting into place and that everything is going to work out fine. Maybe you are in the corporate world and need a slightly different look, so you recline back in your chair and place your hands behind your head, and intertwine your fingers. This is the posture that the boss will most likely take when they talk to their workers, this alone will make you feel very relaxed and on top of things.

Anchoring

This is a very compelling psychological tool to utilize and can have great benefit towards the lessening of anxiety. Certain actions and stimuli all have an anchoring effect on our minds and these can trigger certain responses and feelings. These same anchoring effects are to be used everywhere and are the main reason behind many of the potent psychological triggers and anchors that are used in everyday life. Perhaps you might be at a wedding and a certain song will be playing, maybe hearing this same song at a later date will make you start crying and this affection event was the wedding and the song was the anchor to this wonderful occasion and this triggered your emotions. And when you hear the song again you think of the time you heard it before and thus your emotions are triggered.

Or, say you become ill from eating or drinking something and the moment you smell this again you start to feel ill again, the emotional event behind this is getting sick and the anchor is the drink or food itself. Hence smelling this is what made you sick in the first place and is what could make you very sick once again. So we have anchors everywhere in life and are in both positive and negative emotions and to control these you have to calm yourself, and develop a specified anchor to relate to being calm. And every time you use this you must reinforce the anchor. The anchor I use is my palm down on my thigh and every time I calm myself for whatever reason I place my hand on my thigh once again to reinforce the anchor. So therefore each time I need to be calm I place my hand on my thigh and then I release the trigger and then calm down; this is simply recreating the feeling that is tied to the anchor, which in case is relaxation. So, do this whenever you are relaxed and when you do necessitate becoming relaxed and this will help to place you in that same mental state.

What to Do With Internal Dialogue

To control the internal dialogue you really do need to kill it, and there is one good way to achieve this. If you find that you are talking yourself into a worrisome attribute, maybe while someone is talking you may be worried about something, start to do this straight away. Un-focus your eyes, and allow your peripheral vision to open up. Look directly at two regions ahead of you and slightly to each side. Maintain your conscious thoughts into this area and then draw your gaze from both points and allow them to meet at 45 degree angles as they meet in the higher area of your vision. And then bring your stare down and allow it to be directly in the front of your vision (maybe somebody’s face if they are talking). Now focus your gaze and imagine it coming straight back to yourself and come back with your consciousness to your own mind. This will increase the focus and will also allow you to perform this simple exercise at any time and will deflect the inner dialogue that plagues you.

Centering Yourself

At times you may feel an anxiety across your whole body and you may be particularly self conscious about an area of your body i.e., hands feet etc, and this exercise is particularly great for distracting these obtrusive thoughts. So, to begin with, close your eyes and inhale deeply a few times, and make them come in through the nose and out your mouth. Put your tongue directly against the back of your upper teeth and on your front pallet, this will induce cross lobe integration and further relax you and your brain. Visualize a point that is far ahead of you and transmit your thoughts there, allow yourself to become fully relaxed and continue to breath, allow your thoughts to stay there and you will soon forget all those obtrusive thoughts that only a little while ago had you in fits of worrisome anxiety. And when you are relaxed begin to slowly and carefully to bring the point of your focus in front of you nearer and allow yourself to return to that fully aware state.

Change Your Life: Right Now

The only thing constant in life is change. Every morning we wake up from bed, we aren’t the same individuals as we were yesterday. Innumerable dead cells in our body are replaced with the new ones everyday. If looked at it biologically, we become new every now and then. In spite of all that, we sometimes resist changes in our daily life. Change is just another reality of life. It is something that bridges the old with the new. The significant question is not that if things will change or not, it is whether they change for better or worse and how do we play our part in it.

Many individuals have to face the grim reality of being out of control with their lives. They believe that they’re puppets in the hands of circumstances, instead of being in control of the circumstances. It’s high time that you grab the drivers’ seat of your life and get behind the steering wheel to go where you always wanted to. Putting it correctly as the great Mahatma Gandhi said, “Be The Change That You Want To See”

The primary step on your journey towards change must be the setting of goals. You would never go on a holiday with your family without any preparations. You’d always plan ahead, select the destination, the accommodation, the sites that you may like to visit etc. etc. Changes can happen in the spur of a moment and if you are unprepared you might feel overwhelmed by them. Whenever you are face-to-face with changes, you must ask yourself the honest and important question, Did you achieve all that you have in a day’s time? You’ll discover it might have taken you days, weeks, months and years to be where you are. Yet, we all get immensely impatient when it comes to change. While it may seem encouraging to observe big positive changes happening in ones life, if we look closely, we all experience small positive changes too in our daily lives. It’s all in your mind.

Once you’ve settled on a goal in your life, unless you are blessed with some supernatural abilities, you’ll have to put in efforts to achieve that goal. This is not a passive activity, but very active in nature. The key to victory is persistence. You must take so many actions so regularly that they become a habit.

It may sometimes get difficult to face the fact that we’re the creators of our own situations. We might love to think that we’re the victims of situations and have no control over change, but such thoughts are fuelled by nothing but fear. The fears can range from the fear of failure, the fear of success, the fear of unknown and many others that may paralyze us significantly.

All this doesn’t mean that there is nothing that we can control. Very often, this is an excuse that is given for laziness, thinking that it is very hard to take action. Alternatively, it may also be too scary for an individual to change his/her present situation. One may also feel helpless in making choices and bringing about a change in ones life and circumstances. Life is all about making choices and you must remember, even laziness is a choice that you make.

Once you express your commitment for a goal, you’ll see all such excuses withering away in no time. Let’s take an example of an uneducated woman in an abusive marriage. She may feel helpless to get away as she’s dependent on her partner for her livelihood. She’ll always be afraid of speaking her mind and others will constantly take advantage of that fear. It can be a very precarious situation, however, when she makes a commitment to change her situation and exercise her rights, she may move out of such relationship successfully. Once she becomes self-dependent, she might even relent why hadn’t she acted earlier.

You must always remember that you’re empowered to alter your life. Change may appear difficult, but is certainly not impossible. Once you make up your mind and gather your will power, there is hardly anything that can hinder you from achieving abundant success.

Searching for the Most Eligible Franchise Partner

You have eventually made that decision to get involved in a new business or franchise opportunity. You have also appropriately assessed your professional and personal abilities and are thoroughly convinced about your plan to set up your own business venture. Let’s move onto the tough terrains now! The most demanding part about getting started with a franchise business is selecting one. We are outlining a few important points below to make this task easier for you:

1. Determine Your Choice

The starting step in your search for the best franchise opportunity must be a thorough analysis of the franchise industry from the lowest to the highest levels. If there are a total of 1500 franchise opportunities up for grabs, picking out one can be a daunting task. However, if you adopt an intelligent approach like short-listing only your skill-specific domains, then you stand a better chance of finding an apt franchise partner in no time.

You’d be surprised to know that a maximum number of people who opt for franchise business only pay heed to the monetary gains, instead of looking out for something that interests them This invariably leads to the failure of the franchise business over a period of time of its operation.

2. Scouting for Reliable Franchise Sources

Once you’ve narrowed down your franchise search to an area of your liking, it is now important to perform a good research in a systematic fashion. You must know that specific industry in-and-out and be aware of every aspect like training costs, business overheads, location, human resources, public relations, marketing etc. related to that industry. To make such task easier for you, please refer the list of directories, exhibitions, websites and magazines as follows:

Websites on Franchise

Once online, you’ll find that there are innumerable websites that are dedicated to the Franchise industry. It is quite unlikely that you’ll not find one related to your area of expertise. For example, simply typing the keyword “pizza franchisees” into the Yahoo or Google search engine will throw up top 10 results for the pizza industry. To cut the work short, you can head to the following websites:

International Franchise Association (IFA) / http://www.franchise.org/

Franchise Direct / http://www.franchisedirect.com

Newspapers and Magazines dedicated to the Franchise Industry

To cut down on the tedious work, subscribe to the franchise and business magazines available online or on the bookshelves in the retail outlets. Also, make it a point to regularly read the Financial Times’ business supplements and the important sections of the other relevant newspapers. A lot of magazines can be accessed online free of cost. Some of them are as follows:

Entrepreneur Magazine - http://www.entrepreneur.com

Franchise Times Magazine - http://www.franchisetimes.com

Business Magazine - http://www.businessfranchise.com

Exhibitions, Conferences and Seminars on Franchise Business

Attending the exhibitions on franchise businesses can throw up many potential franchisee options for you. They are also an excellent platform to source key information related to franchise opportunities in your field of interest. To update yourself about the upcoming exhibitions in your town and their dates, time, venue etc., you can contact either the Franchise Direct Information Center or International Franchise Association.

3. Relevance of Your Prior Work Experience

Your experience in a particular field can be an excellent guideline to pick out the correct franchise partner/opportunity. For example, if you hold ample experience as a retail manager in a departmental store, all your knowledge about retail business management will come good in effectively running your own venture. You may also consider taking up a retail franchise outlet. In the same manner, if you are a work-from-home individual, then you can consider taking up part-time franchise options to continue operating from home. It will be profitable if you bank on your past experience in a field to enhance your career in franchise business.

4. Make a fair Assessment of Your Budgetary and Financial Constraints

This is probably the most tiresome and boring task in deciding on a franchise opportunity. In case this task seems to be Herculean one to you, you’ll be better off employing the services of an efficient financial advisor from your local bank who may assist you with chalking out an effective budgetary blueprint for your franchise business venture.

In the End, Are You Really Up For It?

Attitude

Attitude here suggests the necessary traits like pro-activeness and perseverance that are lifelines of any franchise business. You must determine if you possess the necessary positive outlook and skills to make a mark in the franchise business industry. Have you been able to cultivate the correct “attitude”?

Finances

Prior to setting up an appointment with any prospective franchise partner, you must determine whether you have the required funding for the venture? A franchisor would normally expect an upfront fee post the contract signing process, and this usually works out to 10% of the startup expenses. Ensure that you have able legal or financial help at hand to analyze all pertinent fees and accounts prior to signing the franchise contract.

All Round Abilities

What all do you bring to the table? Bank on your professional and personal skills like communication, innovation, organization, public relations, leadership, management etc. to make a success of the franchise venture.

To summarize, if followed to the letter, the above-mentioned points must lead you to the best franchise opportunities suitable for you. Though, the list is not very exhaustive by nature, we’ll outline it in the bullet point format to conclude:
- Study as much as you can about the franchise industry and source enough information before signing the franchise contract.
- Attend various franchise exhibitions and seminars to take expert opinions from the consultants who can give you valuable inputs about the franchise industry of your liking.
- Make a fair assessment about the liquidity of your assets and your net worth.
- In the end, you will have a clear idea about what type of franchise business you’d like to start and which all target companies you must approach for it.
So, What’s holding you back?!

Life Is Always a Challenge, Play it Gracefully

It’s natural that we feel sad, frightened and pained when anything adverse happens to us. But if you look back at history you will see that human beings have always been able to rise to life’s challenges and reach great heights no matter what. It may not always seem so, but these adversities are actually lessons in life. By overcoming the challenges you are learning different lessons and also teaching others life’s many lessons.

Well, wondering what it is you could be teaching anyone? All human beings interact with each other, whether they are right next to you or far away, every person gets affected by everybody else, whether they interact with each other or not.

What you need to consider is if your life was a movie, would the people who came to see it be inspired by my actions in life? What is it I am doing and why do I do it? How can I be someone that other’s will look up to as a guiding light in their lives?

Here is some advice that has served me well and I hope it will help and guide you in times of adversity and also inspire you to help others too

Look at the Bigger Picture

Let your experiences serve to fully awaken you and remind you to be grateful for all that life has given you, especially all the people who share your life. Every step of your journey helps to strengthen you more than you can imagine. Your family and friends have surely noticed your courage and are inspired by it. They will surely reflect upon the influence you have on their own lives. Take time to stop and appreciate the smaller things in life- the power of a warm word or a friendly smile or just the fact that you are surrounded by people who love you. Sometimes it is through others that we learn to appreciate every day and make it count.

Have Faith

Believing in a higher power is a great source of courage to keep going despite the tough moments and to draw on the healing power that is present in the universe.  At any given time, there are typically two voices that go on non-stop in your head. Ignoring the voice of fear and choosing the voice of courage will ensure that your prayers will get answered every time. Trust that somebody somewhere is supporting you because faith is strong enough to make anything possible, no matter how impossible it may seem.

Love your friends and family

Love is the power that keeps us all going on with our lives. On days that you want to get away from it all and just shut yourself in a room; instead, take a deep breath and allow those who love you to come in. Miracles can happen to you when you believe in the power of love and know that no matter what happens or what may go wrong any day, you will always have love.

Creativity And 9 Methods to Develop It

I am a firm believer of the fact that Creativity and Spirituality are inseparable. I do not mean religious beliefs when I talk about spirituality, however, what I’m referring to instead is the human spirit, our inner-self that is the center of our Life. It’s known as “Infinite Intelligence” as stated by Napoleon Hill. Mr. Deepak Chopra refers to it as “Pure Consciousness” and one of my friends has put it beautifully as, “the place in us that never ends.” This beautiful place is indescribable and can be felt only through one’s heart.

Harnessing one’s creative side is all about reaching out to that place within us and connecting with our “Infinite Intelligence.” It’s a diamond that we all possess unknowingly. We are all without exception an extension of the universe and possess that jewel within us, waiting to be polished and used.

When we tap onto our creative side, we lead ourselves to abundance, where nothing is impossible. Scarcity and Limitations only arise when Competition is given preference over Creation.

One cannot be more or less creative since we ARE all blessed with the same levels of creativity. What’s in our control is to practice and hone our creative skills to get attuned and conscious of our creative energy that is always available to us in abundance.

Following are 9 effective methods to help you develop your creativity:

  • Relax - Take some time out to indulge in something that brings smile on your face; something you admire and love; that leaves you awestruck. Go for a walk, jog, swim or just meditate. Pick up a book that you always wanted to read or begin with maintaining a diary by penning down your thoughts.
  • Show Gratitude - Feel grateful for all that you have been bestowed with. Such realization will fill you up with positive vibes and energy. As you start appreciating all the beautiful things that you have been blessed with, you’ll feel relaxed and deeply satisfied from within. Such life state facilitates channeling of creative energy.
  • Explore Your Imagination - Imagine and get visual about your dreams. Close your eyes and experience the fun in seeing vivid images. Settle down in an undisturbed place and close your eyes. Visualize something that you always wanted to see. Explore and settle the finer details of the environments by making wishful changes. Feel the colors and smell the fragrances. Follow it up by asking yourself questions like, How does it feel? What do you see? What’s the smell like? Etc.
  • Relish the Moment - Any musician worth his/her song will tell you their experience while composing music. They immerse themselves in the flow of the moment, devoid of any other thought. It is termed as “being in the zone” by athletes. You can experience this feeling right away by immersing yourself in whatever you’re doing right now (reading of course!) Try it while exercising, making bed, while meditation etc. Books like Eckhart Tolles’ “The Power of Now” are highly recommended in this regard.
  • Get Inspired - Practice moving your emotions by seeing beautiful things. Read a book with vivid images, visit an art gallery, initiate a conversation with someone who has a calming effect on you or maybe just pick up anything inspirational and start reading.
  • Sketch: It may sound little amusing, but it’s one of the best ways to connect on your creative side. Sketching enables you to view things in a totally different light. Pick up books like “Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain” and the workbook by Betty Edwards. It was designed specifically for people who have never explored their drawing skills. It has tremendous insights to gain from.
  • Search for Alternatives - Someone said, “Normal is Boring.” There are always multiple ways of doing any task and you must constantly look out for alternatives. Cultivate the ability to find alternatives even in the seemingly impossible situations.
  • Be Open to Ideas - No idea is crap or junk as we often sometimes refer to them as. Don’t get judgmental about the various ideas that come to you and give them their due by giving them a shot. Such habit will enable more and more ideas to surface from within you.
  • Pen Down Your Thoughts on Paper - Catch hold of some loose sheets (no notebook) and start penning down all the random ideas, words, phrases, thought etc. that occur to you. Get graphic by drawing lines and connecting your ideas on paper. It begins with seemingly crappy thoughts, but eventually shape up into something bigger.

10 Unique Insects

I have always been fascinated by insects. They are simply everywhere; if an area is too cold, you will have insects that have adapted over time, survived and have developed their own characteristics to live there. If it’s too hot, you will have completely different types of insects that have evolved at specific places. Freezing, hot, humid, dry, you name it, weather conditions and temperature simply aren’t enough to get rid of insects.

A lot of female species lay thousands of eggs per day; so all you really need is a very small population that can survive at some place for a short time, and you will have a new set of insects living there and reproducing for a long time to come.

With so many of them out there, some insects really stand out of the crowd. These are some of the most unique insects of the world. Whether it is for their looks, their use, the way they are or the way they act, each of one of these insects has a set of traits that makes them unique.

The Most Beautiful Insect

Winner: Sunset Moth from  Madagascar

The wings of this insect actually don’t have any pigmentation! The colors that you are seeing are actually refraction of the light from micro-ribbon in the wings. This moth is actually active during the day, while most moths of the same family are active during the night. They are native to Madagascar and South America and their wings change color shifting from blue to gold-green and then to other shade of yellow as you change your viewing angle. As you may have imagined, this butterfly is very wanted by collectors.

Most Dangerous Ant

Winner: Black Bulldog Ant of Australia

Considering we all have seen ants and they are probably known for being totally inoffensive, this one not so much. It has been known to literally kill humans. They are dark brown and have black abdomen. They are the most primitive of all ants and are very aggressive. They are 1 inch in length and can go up to 2 inches in some case. As their name implies, they are found only in Australia and on top of being aggressive, they are very fast.

Fastest Flying Insect

Winner: Horse Fly

It’s fastest recorded speed has been up to 90 MPH. Not only is this insect very fast, but it also has great control and maneuvers in the air. It can turn and change directions at lightning speeds. Even though they go very fast, they don’t rely on these speeds hoping to just get lucky getting a prey, they know in advance their destination and what they will be doing. They also have huge eyes; so huge they are some of the biggest of all insects, and their vision cover almost a 360 degree angle!

Heaviest Insect

Winner: Goliath Beetle

Not only heavy, but also huge as you can notice. They come from the family of scarab beetles; the family of scarab beetles have over 30,000 species and scientists think there are as much that haven’t been discovered yet. The first specie appeared over 300 million years ago, and it’s the ability to adapt to the environment that these beetles have been around for so long. The Goliath Beetle likes to eat dead plant and measure 2 to 4-1/3 inches and weigh 3 to 3-1/2 oz. They play an important part in the ecosystem as a decomposer in the environment.

Most Annoying

Winner: No-See-Um

Zoomed

These are the very tiny flies that gather in groups and fly in no real directions. They can pass through very fine opening when doors or windows are shut. They live primarily where there are water sources. Only the females bite and suck out blood; it is to get proteins to develop their eggs.

Longest Insect

Winner: Giant Stick Insect

Yes, that thing is an insect! A giant stick insect measure 163 mm, and if counting when their legs are outstretched, they measure 295mm, almost a whole foot! And in some cases, they can even reach 20 inches. There are over 3000 species of stick insects found, and some of them even have wings and fly. Can you imagine something of this size flying in your living room. It is actually still a challenge to certain people as to how they can fly with such a big weight and small wings; great aerodynamics is the explanation.

Loudest Insect

Winner: Brevisana brevis

This specie of cicadas can be heard for over one quarter of a mile away. It is a real wonder of nature of how something so small can be so powerful to our ears. At close range, the noise can reach 120 dB. A comparative example would be a night in a discotheque, where the music usually reaches 100 dB.

Weirdest Shape

Winner: Thorn Bug

The size and color of this insect varies a lot, but usually, the adult thorn bug is about 0.5 inches high and of color green. They are found in South and Central America, Mexico, and southern Florida. This specie was almost unknown until almost 1950.

Longest Living Insect

Winner: Queen of Termites

The Queen of Termites has been known to live as long as 50 years. They have been on earth for over 200 million years. Termites eat dead wood and by themselves alone, cause more damages to homes than fire and storms. The queen lays between 5,000 to 7,000 eggs a day; that’s a lot of eggs for someone who can also live so long. Speaking of lifespan, there are, on the other hand, mayflies that can live as much as only an hour.

Most Destructive

Winner: Desert Locus

While the above termites do a lot of damage to homes, it is nothing compared to the destructiveness of the Desert Locus. They each eat about the equivalent mass of the weight of their body. They eat almost every sort of crop and vegetation: leaves, flowers, rice, fruits, vegetables, seeds, palms…you name it. 2003-2005 was one of the worst period for West Africa with the desert locus. The desert locus had invaded over 20 countries, the cost of fighting them were over $400 million and the estimated damages to the harvest were over $2.5 billion.

How to Lose Substantial Subscribers From Your Email List

If you are a new at online marketing then read on. There are quite a few mistakes that someone can make that can turn off your customers. To convince a buyer isn’t as easy as simply informing them about products. Even if you have diamonds to sell at half-price, if you make mistakes in your email marketing, nobody would buy them and they’d simply unsubscribe from you. One of the most important assets any online business or marketer could possess is an email list of subscribers and you’d need to constantly build your list and keep holding onto your subscribers.

The following are 8 mistakes that you need to be wary of, the 8 definitive ‘Don’ts’ -

1. Do not promote poor quality products.

If you promote poor quality products, you’d definitely lose your subscribers. Now how would you know whether they are of poor quality or not? Well, you need to know. You need to examine the product and give an honest appraisal of the product. Trust is important, and you’d realize that a reliable recommendation from you would work wonders for profits. Don’t naturally presume that your subscribers are gullible, they know.

2. Do not bombard your subscribers with too many emails.

This would obviously annoy your customer and you need to control the urge to keep sending your subscribers too many offers. Don’t get too greedy, this is a mistake most online marketers make. You will lose a lot of subscribers and to make sure you don’t, you need to stick to a limit. Just send one or two emails a week. In the short run, it seems measly, but in the long run there’s a payoff.

3. Do not take too long between emails.

While the last point drove on too many emails, now don’t even take too long between emails. If you take too long between emails, your subscribers forget who you are, and believe you’re just another spammer. Find the right balance between mails. Don’t take weeks or months between each email.

4. Do not provide misleading subject lines.

Now, it can be tempting to use sensational subject lines to make sure your email is opened. But if it isn’t appropriate to your email, you will lose your subscribers. You need to be imaginative and test different headlines but make sure you also remain sincere. Nobody likes liars or people who exaggerate.

5. Do not go off-topic and become too broad.

Once you have perfected your subject line, make sure your content in the email sticks to it. Your subscriber opened your email because of the subject line and is only interested to learn about that. Don’t start endorsing other products in a wider niche, as your subscribers will soon lose interest.

6. Do not provide boring emails.

Don’t keep mailing the same old dull stuff week after week, as your subscribers will simply lose interest with what you have to offer. So be imaginative and apply new modes of thinking for new ideas. Yes, a cliché is a cliché because it is true, and variety is the spice of life.

7. Do not provide emails that lack the personal touch.

It has shown that marketers who apply first-name greetings into their emails have found a method that greatly enhances their chances of a sale. You can even just talk about yourself a little and your subscribers would feel more comfortable. Remember, they don’t want to just be dealing with a machine, but an honest voice.

8. Do not provide too many sales pitches instead of enough content.

Subscribers don’t sign up to newsletters simply to be bombarded with sales pitches. You need to provide to their needs with plenty of free and valuable content. Try answering their questions and provide good content. Build up a good-healthy relationship with your list, and you’d realize that you’re working wonders.

Now, the above were just a few pointers that you need to take into account for a successful run in email marketing. There’s still a lot that you would have to learn but that’s all during the process. But even with this, you can easily sustain a long-term highly receptive and lucrative list of subscribers.

How to Recognize Your Intuition

Knowing what your intuition is telling you is a valuable tool on the path of spiritual growth. In recognizing and following your intuition, you can be guided from your Spirit, your Higher Self rather than just your mind.

Your Higher Self sees the big picture of your life and can help you take the shortcuts and choose the best path for you which is a wonderful gift.

But it does take recognizing your intuition in order to be able to use it. Here is how to recognize your intuition:

On this Path, Fear is Not Always Intuition

On the path of manifesting your dream, when you are experiencing fear, it typically means that in that moment you can not see clearly. You are seeing through filters of the past that want to keep you safe, protected from any pain you had experienced in the past.

Fear is most often an illusion that holds you back, rather than an intuitive message telling you not to do something.

In my experience, fear is only showing you that you have reached the boundaries of your comfort zone. This is something to be celebrated as your dreams are always beyond your comfort zone.

Fear does not always have to be walked through, especially if it is a deep or intense fear. It is most often a better to heal it at its source. And in releasing the fear, you can more easily hear your true inner guidance.

Your Intuition is Positive and Encouraging

Your intuition is a positive, encouraging voice and would never motivate you out of fear. I guess in some cases a sinking negative feeling could be your intuition telling you something is wrong or that you need to take physical precaution for your own safety, but that’s not what we’re talking about here.

We’re talking about wanting to create a life that reflects who you really are, that is a joyful experience for you to live and allows you to express who you really are and live abundantly.

And on this path, your intuition will speak in a quiet, positive, encouraging voice or nudge. It speaks softly, so you may have to listen closely to hear it.

Your Intuition Resonates Deep Within You

When you get an intuitive insight or message, you will feel it resonate within you. You are an intuitive person, which means you have the added gift of KNOWING what feels right, rather than needing it to be proved to you through logic.

If you see a book and suddenly feel an energy or a resonance within you, know that this is you feeling your intuition.

When this happens, see if you can find out what your intuition is guiding you to do. Perhaps it’s to open the book and get a message, perhaps it’s to buy the book as it has exactly what you need in it for your next step.

Your Intuition Is Easier to Recognize the More You Use It

Everyone is different and their intuition speaks to them in different ways. So the best way to find out how your intuition works for you is to use it! Test it out on smaller things like “Where should we go for dinner?” or “Which shirt will make me feel more energized today?”

By using it, you will begin to see the results of following your intuition and that is how it will strengthen. When you see where you are led when you follow your intuition and find it is to good results, you will begin to trust yourself and your intuition much more. This will allow it to develop even more!

Intuition is Not Always Black and White

Your intuition operates beyond the logical mind that always thinks in terms of either/or, yes/no. Your intuition recognizes the gray area. It knows that there are infinite choices and paths for you and that there is really no such thing as a wrong choice.

Your intuition is messages from your soul, which may see “both” instead of “A or B”. In this case, asking A or B is irrelevant. So rather than thinking of your intuition as something that will give you a concrete “Yes” or “No”, see it as more of a playful thing that can guide you in a more elusive way.

Release the need for the concrete and give yourself permission to be more playful with it!

Get the Most From Email Marketing

Like blogging, there is no money in short term email marketing. There are many advantages in email marketing such as the ability to disseminate information to a wider range of potential customers at a relatively low cost. But one has to use it efficiently in order to maximize success. And if you need a few tips, then read on!

Planning and Permission -The first thing you need to take into account is the planning and permission. What is it you really hope to get out of your campaign? Do you want to increase sales? And if you want to do that, you need to plan your strategies well. For instance: inform potential customers of special offers that are customized for their needs. And before you get to your potential customer, you need to comply with Data Protection legislation. This ensures that your marketing has permission and consent from the customer. And to build your database, you can collect email addresses from your customers.

Target audience -The next thing you can do is find your target audience, as this ensures that you can send the right information to the right people at the right time. You don’t want to be advertising car accessories to people who don’t own a car, or vacation plans to people who live where you want to send them. You need to know who your customer is, and what you can sell them.

Subject Line -Now, before you send out your email, you should know that there is an utmost importance placed on the subject line of your email. It should be professional, meaningful and brief. Without this, your customer may not even open your emails. Place emphasis to words like ‘free’ and use CAPS. Use an HTML design, as it would make your email seem more professional. If you don’t get this right, your email would end up as spam. It simply needs to be professional and brief.

Call to Action -Now, you should call to action, in every email you send out. You need to invite customers to be more interactive. Get them to purchase a discounted product online, download discount vouchers, or even agree to attend events. Make sure all the links to your website are properly updated and your customers would have no problem getting around. Allow customers to find out more about your website and your products. Monitor customer click-throughs so you can determine your campaign’s success.

Keep Records- You can also keep records as it will help you in the near future by knowing how many emails really worked, and what links really interested the customers. All this would help you plan your next campaign. And help you with another point, and that is to experiment with your Emails to know what works. Work on some split testing. Send emails with some slight variations to different kinds of customers. For instance, see what happens if you change the sender’s name from female to male, or with a different subject header.

Deliverability- Now, the last point that you really need to take into account in email marketing is the deliverability of the Email Service Provider. It is the main obstacle that you’d face as ISPs delete billions of emails each day and you need to make sure yours isn’t one of them. The chances are high and you should choose an Email Service Provider with good deliverability rates, otherwise everything you’ve done is rendered useless.
